Tomoo Gokita

Born in Tokyo in 1969. Starting with illustration, he was influenced by the American subculture and underground of the 60's and 70's, and presented works inspired by magazines and photographs of the time. In the latter half of the 90s, he gained enthusiastic support for his drawing works. After that, he mainly produced monochrome portraits drawn with acrylic gouache on canvas. His works have been exhibited in New York, Los Angeles, Berlin, etc., and have received high acclaim. In 2014, he held a solo exhibition “THE GREAT CIRCUS” at the Kawamura Memorial DIC Museum of Art in Sakura City. He has also published many works, including "Lingerie Wrestling" (2000), "Shuffle Railway Song" (2010), "777" (2015), and "Holy Cow" (2017).
